Re: Freedom of Information Act Request
This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act, The Sunshine Act, and Fla. Stat. sec. 119.01 et. seq. I request that a photocopy of the following documents be provided to me:
I am a private citizen seeking information concerning your public official surety bond that you are required by the state of Florida to obtain before swearing the oath of office.
Public Official Surety Bond requests fall under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. § 552, The Sunshine Act 5 U.S.C. § 552b, Fla. Stat. sec. 119.01 et. seq., and by law you are obligated to supply me with this information.
Florida Revised Code 113.071 Sureties upon official bonds: The sureties upon the official bonds of all state, county, and municipal officers shall be residents of, and have sufficient visible property unencumbered within the state, not exempt from sale under legal process, to make good their bonds; and the sureties upon the official bonds of all county and municipal officers shall reside within the county where their principals upon such bonds reside, and shall have sufficient visible and unencumbered property in such county, that is not exempt from sale under legal process, to make good their liability on such bonds. Any duly organized and responsible guarantee or surety company, either foreign or domestic, lawfully doing business in this state, may become and be accepted as surety on all such official bonds.
Please supply me with a photocopy of the documents I have requested within the next (72) hours. Under the FOIA Act for the State of Florida you are required to supply anyone a copy of this information if requested.
Thank you for your consideration of this request.
